So Hubby had his eye appointment today. He has been approved for PRK/Lasik eye surgery. So he had to go in for the full exam. Paperwork from this exam had to be e-mailed to San Antonio. Medical center there will call us to further "ok" this surgery. THEN in order to make it happen, Hubby has to convince his Command to defer his orders for another 3 months. I say convince like its next to impossible but its not. Just a bunch of paperwork & keeping on top of it.
But if he can get his orders for Korea deferred for an extra 3 months, he can have the surgery done. He has to be able to stay here for 6 months after his surgery. The eye doctor today said, if it all works out, hubby could have the surgery done in about 3 weeks!
My concerns of course always come to the children. Deferring for an extra 3 months means we have to move them in the middle of the school year. I know this happens all the time but if it can be helped, I prefer to not go this route.
However, I don't see how that is possible with this situation. So we may possibly be waiting to go to Korea until November or December. Lovely! Moving in the winter time :( Especially when its not so cold here in the winter & having to move where it is pretty cold all winter. I sound like I am complaining. Sorry. It will be a huge adjustment regardless of when we move I suppose!

The Medical Center at Lackland Air force Base has approved to do the eye surgery. Now the process of deferring the orders to Korea. As long as his Chain of Command (Coc) will defer his orders then everything is a good to go! We will go to San Antonio for the surgery in the very near future If they don't defer his orders, we will be leaving for Korea in about a month. Thankfully his first sergeant is really helpful & has made some calls/ emails on our part to move things along. Hopefully she will be able to get the orders deferred :)Then we will be moving to Korea in late October -beginning of November. That's all fine with me! Gives us more time to get everything packed & put in storage. Get a roof rack for our car, get approval from our bank to take our car overseas, buy luggage, get winter coats for the kids!

Plans have changed again. No eye surgery for hubby :(
Our deferment of orders was denied. So moving on now! Prepping for Korea in August!
