Meet the Family

We started this "Military Life" chapter in 2009. Have lived in Ohio the entire time we have been together until hubby joined the Army. Hubby went to Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Sill, OK in Oct. 2009. Then on to Advanced Individualized Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, GA in Jan. 2010. Then we moved 2000 miles away from everything we ever knew to wonderful Fort Huachuca, Arizona in April 2010.
Before military life, hubby was a mechanic for 7 years, a postal worker for 3 years, & then a truck driver for 4 years. I have worked in retail a few times through out the course of life, but mostly got to stay home with kids to take care of them. That's my favorite job! & now I am a photographer as well. Turned my passion into a career.
With the exception of Hope, we were all excited to move to a new area! Hope was in high school with her senior year left so I suppose she had reason to be mad.
We love the adventure of getting to experience new places! So without farther ado...meet my family!

And our whole family (minus Tucker)

Hubby & Me
We have been together since we were 16 years old! Hubby is a specialist in the Army currently & I am a photographer (you already knew this)!
We have 3 kiddos and one 4 legged child! (even though one of those kiddos is an adult now, she will still be our kiddo!)

Hubby likes video games, camping & building stuff out of wood. I love to read, listen to all kinds of music & scrapbook. I also love to travel & always look forward to all the new places we will get to see when we move to new locations!

Oldest Daughter - Hope
Hope no longer lives in our home. She moved back to our home state to attend college. She has taken a year off to get herself situated with a place to live & maintain a job.
She has always been a great student & very active in extracurricular activities at school.
Sometimes its really hard for me to believe that she is an adult now! I still see that 7 year old little girl dancing around in some silky slip that my mother in law gave her to play in!
We miss her very much. Thankful for the internet & text messages to keep us connected.

Only Son - Mason
Mason is on the brink of becoming a teenager! Holy time warp batman! It was just yesterday he was 2!
He is now a seventh grader. Does okay in school. Loves to play video games, skateboard & run around playing army type games with his Nerf guns! Plays basketball & soccer. Use to play the trumpet
He is at that age where he rolls his eyes & walks off saying "Whatever!" So he will be adding to his chore list to learn to not be disrespectful if he can't control his attitude :)

Youngest Daughter - Alainna
& the baby of the family. Alainna is 10 now, I know, I can hardly believe it myself!
She is now a fifth grader. Loves school & is great at math especially. Loves Littlest Pet Shops, American Girl dolls, & craft projects. Plays the clarinet, soccer, cheer leading, & softball.
She has this "I'm the boss" attitude & "I will get my way at all cost" mentality. Which gets her in trouble quite a bit at home. Of course, those who don't live with us will never understand when we tell them she is this way. For she is a perfect angel for everyone else! :) But she loves to please so its a constant war for her.

Our Four Legged Child - Tucker
Tucker came to live with us in April 2011. Much debate went on rather to get another dog or not but low & behold, I fell in love and couldn't say no!
He is a 12 pound dachshund, who was 9 months old when we got him. The vet believes Tucker is also part Jack Russel Terrier.
He is VERY energetic. Loves to play fetch/tag. Loves tennis balls. Loves to sleep in people beds all tangled up in human legs. Loves to chase birds from the yard! Loves to run around the house being chased by the kids.
For some of our adventures, Tucker will not be living with us. While overseas, Tucker will reside with our oldest daughter. It will just be easier on us to not have to worry about housing & quarantine issues in other countries. I love my dog very much & don't want to abandon him just because we have to move. Thankfully Hope is more than thrilled to have Tucker live with her :)
