JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa

05-18/20-12
Our room
We signed up for a Strong Bonds Marriage Retreat put on by the chaplain here on post. It took place at the Starr Pass resort in Tucson. Very nice hotel!
We checked in & got our room, had dinner Friday evening. Then a brief intro about what to expect for the retreat. Met the chaplain who was a great guy. Loved his humor & openness!
Afterwards we were free for the rest of the evening. So the kids wanted to check out the pool complex which has a lazy river & water slide!
Saturday morning we got a hot breakfast then the kids had to go to childcare. We attended 4 hours of marriage classes. We learned if we were introverts or extroverts. & of course lots of other helpful info about how to communicate & resolve conflicts.
Dinner night #1 YUM!
Then they fed us lunch & the rest of the day was for us to do as we pleased so back to the pool area we went! Played in the lazy river til it was time for dinner. Took the kids back to child care after dinner so we could have a date night. Around 7:30pm, picked the kids up & took them back to the pool! (see a pattern here? lol)

Sunday started with a hot breakfast, dropping the kids off at child care yet again & then attending 4 more hours of class. Afterwards we were finished & had to check out. But we chose to stick around & swim a little more!
After all that, some are bound to be asking WHY we took our 10 & 12 year old to child care. Well the answer is simple, we didn't want to come back to severely injured children who abused each other the entire time we were away. They are going through a phase currently where they are at each others throats constantly, yelling & screaming & hitting all the time. I didn't feel it was safe to leave them unsupervised!       Here's more photos from our fun weekend at this amazing place that I recommend everyone to visit at least once while living in the area!
